Hiking / backpacking gear overview

A review of the gear that I would typically take with me for a 2 to 3 night hike in Australia. BTW the knife seen here is a helle harding not a hanson as stated in the video. I ended up selling the blackwolf mantis 1 as I was not happy with it. Reasons for selling; -Inside of tent gets wet when pitching in rain -inside of tent gets wet when entering and exiting in rain -not enough room to sit up in -rain causes fly to touch inner when wet causing substantial wetting of interior -weight closer to 1.8kg, too heavy for a one man of this size.

The song is something I wanted to get out for a while now. It is a history of the experiences of my people since colonisation. I feel there is alot of racial tension in Australia which is in part due to lack of knowledge of the history of Aboriginal people in this country. I am hoping that this video can shed some light on what we have been through (and are still going through), to help bridge the gap. Think of it as a Rap-umentary. The newspaper images can be found here: www.kooriweb.org Lyrics: (Chorus x 2) Watch as I unfold for those that don't know, This is a true story, history untold, For every individual, the old and the young, This is Australian History 101, (Verse 1) Welcome to Australia's darkside, People don't know Australian law inspired apartheid, Separation legalised in the so called "Protection Era" Black communities living in terror, From government departments who stole our children, While our men were at work, exploited by real life villians, No cash, surviving on government rations, On the frontier frontline cultures clashing, Aint nobody want to pay the Black man for his labor, Stolen lands, by the beast we got ate up, Rounded up like cattle on missions and reserves, Where we was broken down and forced to serve, Our women disrespected, and life so hectic, They place our children in White homes to get molested, Our brothers in jail cells with long sentences, With no translators, wondering where justice is. (chorus x 2) (verse 2) We needed certificates ...

Making ultra light tent poles for a Wenzel Star Lite backpacking tent - revised

This video explains how I made ultra light carbon tent poles for my little .00 Wenzel backpacking tent. The arrows I used in this video are Beman Venture 500s, which as shown fit inside the 2117 sleeves very nicely. If you are searching for aluminum arrows to use, here is some information. The first 2 numbers on aluminum arrows is the outside diameter in 1/64ths of an inch and the second two numbers is the wall thickness in thousandths of an inch. That means the 2117 aluminum arrows I used are 21/64 ths of an inch outside diameter with a wall thickness of .017 There are lots of combinations that would work. For instance, the Carbon Express Wolverine arrow has a fractionally larger diameter. This arrow does not fit inside a 2117 sleeve but it probably would fit inside a sleeve made from 2215 or 2216 aluminum arrows. I do know that the Carbon Wolverine will not fit inside a 2114 and a 2312 is a little too big making a slightly loose fit. Some sporting goods/supply stores sell used/traded arrows. Check if they have some cheap ones you can purchase. Also, try your local archery club to see if they might have a junk arrow bucket.

My Brother and I departing from YPIR (Port Pirie) to YCMM (Cummins Town) for a fly-in and airshow. The takeoff took slightly longer than normal due to the extra weight of a 4-man tent (kinda unnecessary for 2 people but its all we had), food and other stuff. Pilot: Sam Thomson Passenger: Ben Thomson Aircraft: Jabiru J-160D with Glass Cockpit T/O distance: approx 610m, normal distance in nil wind is approx 210m.

Backpacking Tarp Shelter

The past few years that I have been backpacking, I have used a relatively heavy and bulky two-man backcountry tent. I am looking to lighten the pack load for 3-season trekking, and have been looking into different tarp system shelters. I will most likely replace my current tarp with a Sil-Nylon tarp in the future, as soon as assets become available.

Here's a quick ADD tour of my collection as of 8-09. ENJOY! In this video we have: Whirlwind, BurgerTime, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, Radarscope, Punch-Out!!, Mutli-Williams Bubbles, Baby Pac-Man, Gravitar, Toobin', Super Mario Bros. Vs. Unisystem, Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man MAME, Mario Bros. WIDE BODY, Popeye Cocktail, and a Nintendo Vs. Dualsystem Red Tent.
