It does sound like there has been a fault with the fabric in the first case, as my tent has stood up to near gale force winds and driving rain without any problems whatsoever. The tent is designed as a lightweight two man mountain marathon or superlight backpacking tent and comfort and space are not priorities when designing this sort of tent - just try and fit two full grown adults into a Terra Nova Laserlite Competition and see what I mean. If you wanted a spacious two man tent then you bought the wrong tent, that's not the tent's fault that's yours.In my experience (in mountain marathons etc) the tent does a great job of standing up to bad weather and the venting system works very well compared to other single skin tents.
